Important information concerning start eligibility....

On checking the entry list the organisation committee has observed, that some entered boats and persons are not eligible to start in the worlds present time:
- every boat/owner must belong to a national J80 class association (J80 NCA).
- a helmsman, who is not owner of the boat, must belong to a NCA too and has to hold the ISAF Group 1 certificate.
- the verification of the start eligibility can be carried out online via www.j80measurement.com and www.sailing.org/isafsailor.
All NCA leaders will be informed in addition separately.

Entry closes on June 9th, for the Tutima J80 Worlds 2008

From July 7th to 13th 2008 the J80 Sailors determines their official world champion in Kiel, Germany. The entry for interested J80 Sailors is possible until June, 9 th. Up to now already 24 boats from seven nations are announced for the Worlds.
For the participants from England, Ireland, Norway, Finland and Sweden the Stena Line (Official Carrier of the Tutima J80 Worlds) offers a 50% reduction on the regular fares to Kiel. This offer applies to the first 18 crews, which announce themselves for the discount.
The Tutima J80 Worlds are supported by the title sponsor and official time keeper Tutima, the Event Partner VW Nutzfahrzeuge, the supporter Liros, Stena Line, Faber+Münker and Henri Lloyd and the media partner Segler-Zeitung, Sailing Journal and Tango.

Lady Mayor to open the event

We are very pleased to announce that the Lady Mayor, Angelika Volquartz has taken on the patronage for the Tutima J80 Worlds in Kiel.
With a reception by the provincial capital of Kiel, Mrs Volquartz will open the World Cup in the event centre in Schilksee on July 8th, 2008.
Kiel Sailing City and the Kieler Yacht-Club work closely together to lead the event to a success.
We are looking forward to seeing the yachts people of the J80 class.

Stena Line provides transportation for the participants of Tutima J80 Worlds from Scandinavia, Great Britain and Ireland by sea as of now and transports the yachtsmen with a discount of 50% on the regular fares. Besides the pure persons and vehicle transport the Stena line offers city trips to Gothenburg and London, short trips, party- and round trips as well as accommodations in Scandinavia, England, Wales and Ireland.
As media partners Segler-Zeitung and Sailing Journal will look after the technical reporting. Segler-Zeitung will summarize the events from the Olympiazentrum Kiel Schilksee daily. The reports will be completed by photos of the Sailing Journal.
Tutima as title sponsor and premium partner is already certain for the event next to Stena line, the Segler-Zeitung, the Sailing Journal as well as LIROS as a further partner.
The Tutima J80 Worlds are the first World Cups of the sporty and dynamic J80 class in Germany. Up to 300 sailors from 15 nations are expected in Kiel Schilksee Olympiazentrum from July 7th to 13th, 2008.

"...we expand the successful co-operation with Kieler Yacht-Club and will provide a Tutima watch for each sailor of the winning crew", Jörg Delecate said in the course of signing the contract.
Jobst Richter, in July one of the race- directors also, emphasized: "We are pleased having won a competent and powerful sponsor for this dynamic and sportive sailing class".
